Welcome to Literally Haunted’s musings of monthly hauntings- Here I’ll be sharing, reviewing and recommending all the things that I found myself loving a little extra in the month + a few standouts that quickly became my daily staples.
Here are all the things that haunted me in November →
Music on repeat: Hayley Williams- Discovery Channel
What I read in October:
Frankenstein: What’s a fall season without some monster madness?! Obsessed with creating life itself, Victor Frankenstein plunders graveyards for the material to fashion a new being, which he shocks into life with electricity. But his botched creature, rejected by Frankenstein and denied human companionship, sets out to destroy his maker and all that he holds dear. My fave read of the month, its a classic!
Automatic 5/5 stars!
Soul Searching: follows Collins Cartwright, a photographer who can normally talk to ghosts until her ability suddenly disappears and at the same time, she finds out a developer is trying to buy her parents’ antique shop out from under them. Burnt out, out of money and with no job, she returns to her small hometown of Sweetwater Peak to help save her family’s antique shop. There, she ends up living above the workshop of upholsterer Brady Cooper. A fine, quiet, guarded man. As Collins tries to reconnect with her lost gift, untangle her past, and deal with the town’s lingering spirits, she and Brady slowly build a heartfelt, healing romance. The story blends paranormal mystery, small town charm and some spice! 4.25/5 stars!
Carl’s Doomsday Scenario: continuing the series this part 2 follows Carl who definitely didn’t sign up to be trapped in an alien dungeon game show and his diva cat, Princess Donut. On the third floor, the “Over City,” they get to pick new powers, dodge undead clowns, unravel a conspiracy involving corrupt elves and necromancers. Between solving murders, stopping an apocalypse, and trying not to die for the entertainment of intergalactic viewers, Carl and Donut prove once again that the best way to survive the end of the world is with sarcasm, explosives, and a cat who thinks she’s the star of the show (because obviously she is). Love Donut, and love this series! 4/5 stars!
The Dark Decent of Elizabeth Frankenstein: A beautiful, deliciously dark retelling of Frankenstein. This story is both feminine and fierce. Kiersten White pries open the seams of Mary Shelley’s classic and stitches them back together from Elizabeth’s point of view. This isn’t the quiet, angelic, well behaved girl we are use to, this Elizabeth claws her way through a world built to use girls like her. Manipulation becomes her language, secrets her armor, and Victor…well…Victor remains the brilliant, obsessive and spiraling nightmare we always suspected he was. A very underrated book, another fave for the month 4.50/5 stars!
What I Watched:
My November watches were all over the place. From 90s throwbacks, cult classics and unhinged horror, I was able to watch a little bit of everything and even discovered some new faves. May was a standout film for me in the month. It was weird and wild and fun af! If America psycho, Frankenstein and Ghost World had a baby, it would be MAY! And yes, I did in fact binge watch the first 4 EP of Stranger Things season 5…I’m not ready for it to end 😢
Home and beauty must haves:
🛒 Add to cart moments:

On the radar:
The first week of November kicked off with some great news….
For Halloween this year I was Stripe from the Gremlins, so you can imagine I was feeling extra excited when I found out my favorite little fur balls will be back on the big screen in 2027. Really keeping my fingers crossed no CGI is used, hoping for lots of practical effects and puppetry, like in the first two films. A girl can dream…
Girls and gays this is not a drill…. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weiszl are returning for the Mummy 4!!!! Universal is allegedly developing a sequel that would disregard the 2017 reboot and the new film will act as a direct follow-up to the original trilogy. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, known for directing Ready or Not and the recent Scream films, are set to direct. Although the project is still in its early stages, and a release date has not been set, CONSIDER ME STILL SAT!
Be still my heart! Im a very big fan of The Hunger Games novels, I read the lates book Sunrise on the Reaping upon its release back in march and my heart is still healing from the story. I cannot wait to see it on screen! The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, is hitting theaters and IMAX November 20, 2026. It is a prequel that takes place 24 years before the original film and focuses on the 50th Hunger Games, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Peep the trailer that was just released.
